“Without ELK's work with thousands of children each year, our community would be a poorer place. I like knowing I am a part of this organization through my personal support.”

The Montbello community in Northeast Denver faces many barriers including high rates of poverty and unemployment, low graduation rates and limited access to support services and open space. Because the Montbello community wasn’t privileged to be a planned community, with a robust integration of amenities and services to ensure the success of the residents, it lacks a geographically-focused hub of community activity and services. The Inspire. Educate. Transform. Campaign is a collaborative effort lead by Environmental Learning for Kids in partnership with the City & County of Denver Parks and Recreation Department and The Trust for Public Land that addresses these issues and provides an opportunity for a community transformation. This $6 million dollar project will provide essential assets for STEM education, environmental health and stewardship, public health, workforce readiness and career opportunities, and community engagement.
